And a No. 5 Carbine...

Bet you have one, don't you!?

It's one of my projects, I've got all the woodwork and 'legal' metalwork plus a mp01 as a doner

But as Yith says you'd need a SMLE, as about the only place No. 5's appear during ww2 is in the ETO, definately Norway not sure about anywhere else, (I made the same mistake myself  ).

They have No5s in season 3 of "It Ain't Half Hot Mum", so they must have been used in the far east during the war.

Problem is all the real pics show No4s or SMLEs :)

Well its 1945... dunno about post WW2... there's still Japs around in it... and they're even still worried about japs invading india in the early episodes.

That could be quite good fun. I've been doing Kendo for the last 10 years!

God, I just read that as "I've been doing Ken Dodd for the last 10 years".....which is a completely different thing.

How convertible do you reckon they are?

There's a guy on the WW2 re-enactment forums who's importing a load and selling them for £120 posted.

It's already been done by a guy on the US forum, I'll post a link tonight as I can't get into that forum from work.

It looked pretty good the only thing that really needed sorting was the bolt handle which sat too far forward.

I'm going to express an interest in this game too. I'm quite short with dark hair, so I rather fancy being a Jap.

Don't know what Barrie thinks but I'm sure he'd be up for this type of game aswell. Maybe he'd prefer to be allied but I just think the jap
uniform looks really cool and quite easy to muddle together something passable.

Lucky I spotted it was you who's typed this, Anne, I was ready with a retort about 'grey-haired Japs'!

Just joshing, Barrie...

Looks like this is going from pipe dream to relaity.

Ok chaps I want to give folk enough run up to get kit at a leisurely pace.

When would be a sensible time to host this game in your opinion bearing in mind were tlaking about playing in jungle kit in the uk?

Would next summer (as in june 2009) be to far away.
